ACA Political Action Committee

In order to protect the interests of independent cable operators, it is essential that members of Congress understand and respect the important role that ACA's nearly 850 small and medium sized companies play in delivering communications services to more than 7 million households across the United States.

The ACA Political Action Committee (PAC) was therefore established to help elect both Democratic and Republican candidates in the U.S. House and Senate who are concerned about the well being of independent cable providers who serve smaller markets and rural areas.

The ACA PAC is funded through voluntary contributions from ACA's eligible employees and the executive and administrative personnel of ACA's corporate members. Under federal law, the ACA PAC cannot accept corporate contributions. Moreover, these contributions are not tax deductible as charitable donations.

In order for the ACA PAC to solicit contributions from a member companies' executive and administrative personnel, the member company must sign an Authorization Form giving the ACA PAC permission to solicit its eligible employees. Federal election law provides that a company may only grant one trade association PAC the right to solicit its employees per calendar year.
